Rosamond Rotary Club won big-time under the able leadership of Ruben Gonzales who was president of the club during
2007/2008.
"It was a group effort among all members of the Rosamond Rotary Club. I have to give them all "Thanks" for
working on all these projects we accomplished throughout the year,"
beams Ruben from his office at Kieffe And Sons Ford.
"During the Annual Rotary District Conference held this year at the Ronald Reagan Library, we were honored by
receiving two first place awards for small clubs. One for "Best Program" when Rotary Past International President Rick
King visited Rosamond the other award was for "Best Project". We raised over $25,000. for a new Kern County Tourism
Kiosk which we will install at Albertson's very soon."
Rosamond Rotary also won a second place award for youth activities by sponsoring the All Star Basketball game and this
dynamic group of local business people gained an honorable mention award for organizing the Kern County Sheriffs
Appreciation Dinner held on Janurary 15th, 2008.
Rosamond never has won so many awards in a single year competing against Rotary clubs in the San Fernando Valley all
the way up to Bishop.
